Jamie Carragher predicts narrow winner in Arsenal vs Everton showdown
Everton travel to London on Saturday to take on Premier League leaders Arsenal, and Jamie Carragher believes it will be a close affair.
It is an important fixture for both outfits. Arsenal are seeking their first league title since 2003-2004; meanwhile, the Toffees are looking for their first European campaign since 2017-2018.
In both regards, the margins are incredibly slim. The Gunners are seven points clear in first, although their nearest challengers, Manchester City, do have a game in hand.
For Everton, they are sitting in eighth place, one behind Brentford above them, with seventh looking to become a Conference League position due to the top two facing off in the Carabao Cup final.
Everton’s game against Arsenal has all the makings of an intense showdown, and Carragher thinks it will be just that.

What has Jamie Carragher predicted for Arsenal vs Everton?
Carragher believes that Everton will put on a strong showing at the Emirates and make life difficult for Mikel Arteta’s side but will fall short.
The Blues will be looking to cause an upset and keep themselves in a strong position to fight for European football.
Writing in his Super 6 predictions, the former Liverpool defender has predicted a narrow 1-0 win for the home team.
Carragher said: “Arsenal do just enough to beat Everton at the Emirates.”

If Everton can keep the game close, they might be able to come away with a result.
Brighton recently showed that you can outplay this Arsenal side, but the Seagulls were not able to break down the resilient Gunners defence.
The former footballer turned pundit is not the only one predicting a loss for the Blues. The supercomputer’s verdict for Arsenal against Everton is now in.
When was the last time Everton won at the Emirates?
Everton’s last win away from home against Arsenal was five years ago, as the Toffees secured a 1-0 win thanks to a Bernd Leno own goal.
It was their first ever win at the Emirates and still remains the only victory to date for the Merseyside club at the North London stadium.
In that season, the Blues managed to do the league double over Arsenal under Carlo Ancelotti.
David Moyes will now be looking to use that win as inspiration, as there is plenty on the line for Everton this season.
The margins are tight in the race for Europe, and any added points in games where the Toffees may not be expected to pick up any will go a long way.
Everton have been in fine away form all season, and they can use that as a confidence boost heading into the match.
Hopefully a famous away day for supporters is on the cards, who were not able to attend their only win at Arsenal’s home ground due to COVID restrictions.
