Joe Gelhardt must listen to Djeidi Gassama as Rangers move touted, Danny Rohl is perfect for him
Joe Gelhardt is attracting interest from Rangers among several other clubs this summer after a strong season for Hull City.
The striker has netted 13 goals in 36 games across all competitions for the Tigers this season, with decision-makers hoping to make his loan from Leeds United permanent.
Gelhardt has been with Leeds since 2020, joining from Wigan Athletic as a teenager before he was loaned out for the first time in 2023.
The 23-year-old also spent the second half of last season on loan with Hull and would be keen to return on a permanent basis in the summer.
Rangers transfer chiefs hope they can change that, however, and will be expected to use their ownership links with Leeds to jump the queue for the forward.

Danny Rohl is the perfect manager for Joe Gelhardt
Former Manchester United chief scout Mick Brown exclusively told Football Insider this week that Rangers are well-placed to sign Gelhardt this summer, considering the 49ers’ ownership over both clubs.
The striker is seen as an ideal player for the Scottish Premiership, and he could be the goal-scorer that the Gers have been looking for.

Youssef Chermiti and Bojan Miovski arrived last summer and have enjoyed brief spells of strong form, but neither player has managed to consistently find the net.
Gelhardt could be just the man, and the striker will likely benefit from working with Rangers manager Danny Rohl, too.
The German has a fantastic record of working with and developing young players, particularly forwards.
Djeidi Gassama, who was first with Rohl at Sheffield Wednesday before making the switch to Rangers last summer, found his feet and has thrived under him.
The same can be said of Mikey Moore, who seriously struggled under Russell Martin at the start of the season before finding his feet and exploding under the 36-year-old.
Djeidi Gassama’s comments say it all about Rohl
Gassama must have been delighted when he saw that Rohl was the man who would be taking charge of Rangers.
The 22-year-old was one of the few players to perform well under Martin, and he has had to fight for his position far more under the German, but his development will surely benefit.
Speaking to Rangers after Rohl was announced, Gassama said: “He is like a father to me. He helped me a lot.
“When I was at Sheffield Wednesday, I worked with him for 18 months and he gave me a lot of advice, and especially last season I had a good year because of him. He taught me how to play my position on the pitch.
“He loves players to fight for the team and there were a lot of other things – even off the park he helped me a lot to settle in. He was good for me.
“He is a good manager with a lot of good ideas and I think he will help us to win games. It is good for us to have him here.”
