Josh Windass sends six-word message as James Tavernier confirms Rangers exit
Josh Windass has shared his appreciation for James Tavernier after the Rangers captain confirmed he will leave Ibrox in the upcoming summer.
Tavernier will bring his 11-season stay to an end in Glasgow at the end of the campaign, after years of speculation surrounding his future.
Being captain since 2018, Tavernier has delivered countless pieces of silverware under several managers, getting all the way to the Europa League final too.
The defender will always be remembered for his sensational goalscoring record over the years, something which may never be replicated anywhere.
Tavernier is now moving on, and Danny Rohl will need to find a suitable replacement.
🚨 RANGERS TRANSFER UPDATE 🚨
The latest breaking news on signings, departures, and Danny Röhl’s primary targets.
James Tavernier tributes flooding in
Tavernier is receiving messages from the world of football, which always happens when a legend of the game moves on.
Tavernier’s stats for Rangers All-time Matches 562 Goals 144 Assists 148 Minutes played 48,833
It has been a month full of headline departures, with Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson confirmed to be leaving Liverpool, while Bernardo Silva will depart Man City.
Tavernier is the perfect comparison to those huge names, with his legacy massive at Ibrox.
Not many have been through as much as the right-back, going from the bottom to the very top, and Windass was there for part of that.

Taking to his Instagram stories after the news, Windass tagged Tavernier and wrote, “What a player, what a teammate.”
Now, all eyes will be on his next move.
Could Josh Windass return to Ibrox?
Windass has been heavily linked with a return to Rangers in recent months, and he directly responded to those rumours back in January.
The attacker will have full focus on trying to fire Wrexham into the Premier League in the final month of this season, with the Welsh side currently in the Championship play-offs.
With two games to go, though, they are joint on points with Hull in seventh.

Windass will be crying out for a shot at the Premier League, but should that not happen, Rangers may have Champions League football to offer instead.
Rohl and the Bears could earn automatic qualification back to the big table if they win the Scottish Premiership, with all eyes on the final five games of the season.
With things so tight, Tavernier and Rangers will only have eyes on the title right now.
