Lennart Karl, Angelo Stiller and the winners of the international break
We cast an eye on three players who did so across Germany’s friendlies against Switzerland and Ghana.
The 18-year-old has seriously impressed at club level this season in what has been a remarkable breakout campaign for Bayern Munich. His four Bundesliga goals and three assists so far, allied to four and two in each column in the UEFA Champions League, no doubt influenced Nagelsmann’s decision to call him up for the first time.
The left-footer made his debut against Switzerland and, during approximately 30 minutes on the pitch, he was heavily involved in creating the winner for Florian Wirtz in a 4-3 victory. Karl played for the entire second half against Ghana in Stuttgart, and evidently made an impact on Nagelsmann.
