Liverpool ‘issue’ revealed in Jarell Quansah pursuit as multiple clubs show interest
Liverpool face a significant hurdle in their attempt to re-sign Jarell Quansah from Bayer Leverkusen due to their precarious Champions League standing.
That is according to ex-Everton, Aston Villa, and Aberdeen chief executive Keith Wyness, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, who states that Quansah is currently at the “height of his game.”
Quansah left the Merseyside club last summer in search of greater game time, and the 23-year-old has become a mainstay in the Bayer Leverkusen defence.
Signing a new centre-back is a priority for Liverpool in the summer transfer window, with Ibrahima Konate set to depart and a lack of depth in the position.

Champions League could prove difference in Jarell Quansah deal
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – believes Liverpool could face an “issue” re-signing Quansah if the club does not qualify for next season’s Champions League.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast, Wyness thinks the defender has proven his quality at Bayer Leverkusen.
He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “I think he is proven now that he’s got stable in terms of injuries. He’s performing very well.
“And so you’re getting a player who has actually gone away, recovered his form and is at the height of his game. And I think he would be a very interesting asset because he would integrate very quickly. And I think there’s a big value in that, and they’ve got to hit the ground running next season, we know that.
“There could be an issue though if Liverpool don’t make the Champions League, that’s something he would consider now because he’s being looked at by a number of clubs. But I certainly think, from Liverpool’s point of view, he could be an interesting acquisition if he came back.”

Arne Slot sack plan revealed
Sources have told Football Insider that Arne Slot’s position as Liverpool manager will be reviewed at the end of the season.
Slot’s position continues to come under scrutiny following Liverpool’s 1-0 loss against Galatasaray in the first leg of their Champions League last 16 tie.
Liverpool are unlikely to sack Slot before the end of the season, but Champions League qualification looks set to be the defining factor over whether he keeps his job.
