Matias Almeyda reveals effect of Akor Adams’ goals on the Sevilla squad
Sevilla head coach Matias Almeyda has revealed that the good goalscoring form of Super Eagles striker Akor Adams has had a good effect on the rest of the squad, Soccernet.ng reports.
The 25-year-old scored two goals and provided two assists in six games for Nigeria at the AFCON, although he wasn't happy he returned to Spain with a bronze medal.
However, the former Montpellier striker has found good form since his return from Morocco. Adams scored a brace off the bench against Elche to rescue a point for the seven-time UEFA Europa League winners.
He stepped up from twelve yards again last night, sealing three points for Sevilla against Athletic Club.

Sevilla coach lauds Akor Adams' goalscoring ability
Adams strike against Ernesto Valverde's side was his sixth goal in Spain, making him 11th on the list of Nigeria’s all-time La Liga scorers.
As such, the former Sogndal forward has now moved ahead of legendary Super Eagles forward Rashidi Yekini, who scored thrice in Spain.
Still, Almeyda isn't complaining, as scoring goals is certainly fun. More than that, Adams' goals, alongside Isaac Romero's input, have raised the mood in the Sevilla squad.
“Both of them put in huge effort and played very well,” the Argentine said in quotes revealed by Futbol Fantasy.

“It was the first game they played together, and we had that depth, aggressiveness, and were always very active.
“The players' interpretation was very good, and their commitment gives you that breather you need when there are long balls, balls to the wings, well, we have to keep going.
“I'm happy for Isaac that this came out with the affection of the people, and as long as Akor keeps scoring goals, we're even happier.
“Yes, some things have been corrected, others we still need to correct; that's what this whole tournament is about,” Almeyda concluded.

Obafemi Martins (7), Isaac Success (7), Sadiq Umar (11), Odion Ighalo (13), Samuel Chukwueze (21), Mutiu Adepoju (22), Kalu Uche (38), Finidi George (43), Ikechukwu Uche (43), and Cristopher Nusa (48) all lead the way for Nigeria's top goalscorers in the La Liga, with Akor just below the top ten.
