Mauricio Pochettino’s chances of Tottenham return handed new boost amid fresh claim
Mauricio Pochettino would reportedly not be put off managing Tottenham in the Championship.
According to an update provided by GiveMeSport’s senior football correspondent Ben Jacobs via X on Tuesday, Pochettino is understood to be open to becoming Tottenham manager once again.
Jacobs states that the current USA men’s national team head coach wouldn’t be put off from returning to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium should Spurs get relegated to the Championship this season.
However, being able to afford the 54-year-old in the second tier would perhaps be the main issue for the Lilywhites, with Jacobs claiming that his wage demands wouldn’t be guaranteed to drop significantly.
Igor Tudor chances of permanent Tottenham job revealed
Tottenham’s sporting director Johan Lange has recently claimed that current interim head coach, Igor Tudor, could have a pathway to a permanent role in N17.
However, with two defeats from his first two games in charge, the Croatian hasn’t hit the ground running in North London, and isn’t yet building a strong case to keep his spot in the dugout beyond this season.
As such, he’s not yet struck up a connection or won the trust of the Spurs faithful, with many dreaming of a Pochettino return pretty much ever since he left in November 2019.

So, what can Tudor do to ensure he’s given himself the best possible chance of earning a permanent managerial contract with Tottenham? Well, according to Jacobs’ aforementioned report, nothing.
“There’s no chance that Igor Tudor, the interim, could get the job permanently,” said Jacobs.
Roberto De Zerbi and Robbie Keane latest
Given the stature of Tottenham, even despite their current struggles in the Premier League, it’s a job that looks set to still attract some big names this summer.
According to Jacobs, former Brighton and Marseille manager Roberto De Zerbi is another candidate for the Spurs job, and that he feels as though he’s got “unfinished business” in Premier League management.

However, Jacobs states that De Zerbi will “bide his time”, and so he may look to wait beyond this summer to see what options are on the table for him.
Robbie Keane has also been credited as a “name to watch” for Tottenham, with the Spurs legend currently performing an excellent job with Hungarian side Ferencvaros, which saw his side win the league last season.
