View: Struggling Everton star can provide timely boost for Moyes' push for Europe, stats show why
Beto has been far from a success at Everton, but he could now be a key player for David Moyes as the Toffees push for Europe.
Goals have been hard to come by for the Blues’ forwards this season, with neither Thierno Barry nor Beto impressing in the final third.
The pair have yet to reach double digits, and among Everton’s competitors for Europe, the L3 outfit are the only side not to have a player reach 10 or more goal contributions.
However, that could very well change in the upcoming weeks and months, as Beto could be primed for a successful run in the Premier League.

How Beto could now fire Everton to European qualification
The idea of Beto becoming one of Everton’s key players may make a few Evertonians laugh, but the Guinea-Bissau international tends to turn up in the latter end of the season.
So far, Beto has looked to be out of favour this season, starting nine games for the Hill Dickinson club.
However, as stated, Moyes could turn to the striker as he looks to push for the Blues’ first season in Europe since 2017-2018.
The 28-year-old scores more goals and is more efficient for Everton from January to May, as per stats provided by Opta data editor Aaron Barton via X.
Statistic August to December January to May Games 45 43 Starts 14 19 Minutes 1502 1935 Goals 3 12 Shots 53 65 Minutes per Goal 500.67 161.3 Shots Per Goal 17.7 5.42
This season, Beto looks to be continuing that trend despite just 190 minutes since the turn of the New Year.
In that period, he has scored three goals, giving him an average of 63.33 minutes per goal for Everton in 2026.
Moyes could have another boost in Thierno Barry – here’s why
Beto faces the task of usurping Barry in Moyes’ plans, with the Frenchman also impressing during the latter half of the season.
Barry has started nine of the last 10 Premier League fixtures, where he has scored five goals in that period.

As the season begins to come to a close, and Europe is still in sight, there is no better time for the two strikers to begin to hit their stride.
Hopefully, this run of form for the pair can continue because if Everton can begin to score more frequently, the race for Europe could tip in their favour over the upcoming weeks.
