RB Leipzig and Germany teenager Assan Ouédraogo suffers knee injury
Ouédraogo hurt his left knee in the 53rd minute of Leipzig's 2-0 win over Werder Bremen on Bundesliga Matchday 11. The 19-year-old midfielder went on to score the game's opening goal, before being withdrawn in added time. A medical examination has subsequently revealed a tendon injury in the back of the knee.
"It's a real shame that Assan has been ruled out at this particular point in time. He was on the right track, had made great strides in recent weeks and had become a Germany international," commented Leipzig sporting director Marcel Schäfer.
"This injury is all the more bitter for him and also for us as a team. We're keeping our fingers crossed for Assan and hope he makes a quick and full recovery."
