Rico Lewis and Daniel Munoz respond as Marc Guehi transfer update emerges at Crystal Palace
Marc Guehi appears set to leave Crystal Palace imminently, and has drawn attention from soon-to-be former and current teammates.
Man City have struck a deal for Guehi, worth just £20million after Liverpool attempted to acquire the talented centre-back’s signature during the summer transfer window.
Everything appears to be falling apart at Selhurst Park, with Oliver Glasner not wanting to sign a new deal with the Eagles, and many other talents likely to leave at the end of the 2025-26 season.
Adam Wharton, Maxence Lacroix, and Daniel Munoz are all names linked with moves away, despite Palace winning the FA Cup last term. This season, they’ve already been knocked out by Macclesfield.
Now, Glasner is about to lose one of his biggest names, to make matters even worse.

Man City agree £20million deal for Marc Guehi
The Palace captain had overgone a medical ahead of a move to Anfield during the summer, only for the deal to fall through at the 11th hour, and Arne Slot now looks to be paying a heavy price for that.
Taking to Instagram (16 January), Fabrizio Romano wrote: “HERE WE GO! Manchester City agree deal to sign Marc Guehi,” with blue circle and bomb emojis.
He added: “Deal in place after the exclusive story revealed today, with the total fee worth £20million accepted by Crystal Palace! New centre-back for Guardiola,” alongside an England flag.
Both Rico Lewis and Munoz liked the transfer post, also being joined by Christian Benteke. Even Adebayo Akinfenwa commented, writing: “LFC, what the hell are you doing?”
What injury problems are piling up for Pep Guardiola?
It is an incredibly exciting time for the Citizens, with reinforcements very much needed at the Etihad Stadium, and the 26-time England international will certainly do at the back.
Unsurprisingly, Guardiola’s main issues are emerging in the centre of defence, with Man City without Ruben Dias, Josko Gvardiol, and John Stones, all three very experienced options.
In addition to the centre-back trio, there is uncertainty over Nico Gonzalez and Savinho, with Oscar Bobb and Mateo Kovacic already recovering from long-term issues.
There is still Omar Marmoush to return from AFCON, which Rayan Ait-Nouri did recently, and squad feels extremely thin right now, all thanks to a plethora of injuries at the Etihad.
Despite all the setbacks, Man City are still very much in the Premier League title race, and Mikel Arteta‘s Arsenal are not as far ahead as many would have expected after each team’s starts to the campaign.
