Sevilla in surprise hunt to sign Rangers fringe player Rohl hasn't started since Xmas - report
Rangers have had a very busy January transfer window so far and it is showing no sign of slowing down.
The Gers are in with a chance of winning the Scottish Premiership title, so they are doing everything they can to strengthen their squad this month.
Rangers signed Tochi Chukwuani from Sturm Graz last Sunday, before confirming the addition of Belgian defender Tuur Rommens on Wednesday.
After two incomings and with several more expected before the deadline, Danny Rohl could now let some of the players on the fringes of his squad depart.
Max Aarons being chased by Sevilla
Rangers signed Max Aarons on loan from Bournemouth over the summer, as part of their dismal transfer window under Russell Martin, Kevin Thelwell and Patrick Stewart.
All three of the aforementioned trio were sacked in the first half of the season, although the remnants of their recruitment efforts are still evident for all to see.
Aarons has been criticised for his performances at Rangers, with many around Ibrox believing he is simply not good enough for the Light Blues.
Despite his poor form, Corriere dello Sport are reporting via their print edition on Wednesday that the full-back is a target for Sevilla and Lazio in the January transfer window.
It could mean that Aarons’ loan spell with the Gers is cut short this month to allow him to move abroad.
Max Aarons down the pecking order under Danny Rohl
Aarons was utilised fairly regularly during the early stages of Rohl’s reign at Ibrox, but in recent weeks, he has struggled for game time.
In fact, the 26-year-old has not been included in the starting lineup since Rangers were beaten 2-1 by Hearts on 21 December.

Instead, Aarons has been limited to appearances off the substitutes’ bench, only playing for a total of 27 minutes across the last five games.
With the recent addition of Rommens to their ranks, the Bournemouth loanee has fallen even further down the pecking order.
Therefore, the Englishman may decide he is better off departing the Glasgow club this month to find game time elsewhere.
