Sheffield Wednesday fans say the same thing about Henrik Pedersen dismissal after what happened vs Wrexham
Sheffield Wednesday continued their dire form on Saturday as they lost 1-0 to Wrexham at Hillsborough.
Defeats have become common at the Owls throughout the campaign, with the one to the Welsh side being their 20th in the second tier this season.
However, while Sheffield Wednesday’s current situation has made relegation inevitable, many fans believe that Henrik Pedersen should be getting more out of the squad.
As a result, many have now turned on the manager as the Owls continue to sit on negative points.

Sheffield Wednesday fans demand Henrik Pedersen is sacked
Sheffield Wednesday fans have slowly turned on Pedersen in recent weeks.
The Owls have now lost their last seven in all competitions, and are at serious risk of not reaching a positive points total by the end of the campaign.
To date, their last and only league win of the campaign came in September, when they beat Portsmouth at Fratton Park 1-0.
However, with this being a distant memory, fans can simply not take Pedersen’s negative football any longer, especially with results still not coming through despite the defensive tactics.
As a result, they have taken to X to demand that the manager is sacked after their latest defeat to Wrexham.
30% possession at home.
Pedersen out. #swfc— Me (@haddington) January 31, 2026
Get that waste of space Pedersen sacked now. It’s just embarrassing— Peter (@Peter4235887089) January 31, 2026
Pedersen stealing a wage.— Ross (@WLegend1978) January 31, 2026
Please make Pedersen ball stop.
I don’t care if we are managerless for the rest of the season. Please stop whatever he is doing in training and how he is telling them to play. It’s painful.

So deep, so narrow, zero attacking intent.
Why can’t Pedersen change the formation and the way we play. Absolutely dreadful. #swfc— Me (@haddington) January 31, 2026
What did the stats say about Sheffield Wednesday’s defeat vs Wrexham?
Unfortunately, the stats are not a kind reading for Owls fans after the defeat.
According to BBC Sport on 31 January, the hosts only mustered 31.2 per cent possession, which resulted in five shots, two of which were on target.
In comparison, Wrexham dominated, having 68.8 per cent of the ball, which resulted in 12 shots, four of which were on target.
The visitors also had a better xG at 1.44 compared to 0.39.
Sheffield Wednesday Wrexham Possession 31.2% 68.6% Shots 5 12 Shots on target 2 4 xG 0.39 1.44
Therefore, it is becoming increasingly evident that Pedersen’s tactics are simply not working and are now giving the Owls any type of advantage.
While a defeat was no doubt expected against a Wrexham side that were on the up, with relegation essentially ensured, fans want to see Wednesday go for the win more.
As a result, if Pedersen cannot change his tactics to try to produce either results or more exciting football, his dismissal at Hillsborough appears inevitable in the coming weeks.
