Sky Sports share new details on McNeil to Palace transfer, this is realistically what'll happen
Dwight McNeil looks set to join Crystal Palace after a late move for the Everton winger came on deadline day.
McNeil has largely been out of favour in David Moyes’ plans, so recouping some money on a fringe is ideal for the club.
Tyrique George looks to be coming through the door for the Toffees, with the Chelsea starlet set to fill the missing Jack Grealish void.
Grealish is currently ruled out injured with a foot fracture, making the George transfer a necessary move.
However, while McNeil is joining Crystal Palace for £20million, the L3 outfit may have to wait to receive that money.

Dwight McNeil’s move to Crystal Palace is on an initial loan
A fee of £20m for McNeil is an excellent deal for Everton, and one fans would likely not have expected for a player who rarely features.
McNeil joined the club in 2022 for the same price he is leaving for and throughout that period has scored 15 goals and got 19 assists in all competitions for Everton.
His time on Merseyside is coming to an end, but the structure of the deal means Everton will have to wait to receive any money for the player.
According to Sky Sports, the move is an initial loan which includes an obligation to buy for £20m. The obligation does contain certain criteria in order to activate.
However, Sky Sports also state those objectives are “realistic to achieve”.
Everton have made profit on McNeil
While they technically will not get the money for McNeil until next season, Everton have also technically made a profit on the player as well.
Despite McNeil joining for a similar fee in 2022, due to amortisation costs on the books, his transfer will help the club’s financial situation quite well.
Statistic Total Appearances 120 Goals 15 Assists 19
The former Burnley attacker signed on a five-year deal, and he is currently in his fourth year on that contract.
His amortisation per season is currently at £4m, which is taken off his value after each singular contracted year.
This means his current book value is now £4m. The £20m figure for McNeil means Everton will be booking a £16m profit on the player.
Overall, the Toffees have done quite well with his exit.
