Sources: Leeds make summer transfer plans to fit around Daniel Farke system as 49ers show their faith
Leeds United will target players to fit into their newfound 3-5-2 formation as they conduct their transfer business this summer, sources have told Football Insider.
Daniel Farke has no plans to divert away from that system next season, regardless of which league they are in, and their transfer policy is set to be aligned accordingly.
The Whites have enjoyed plenty of success since they switched to the back-three setup back in December, but sources say that there is a feeling at Elland Road that several members of their current squad do not fit into that system.
The newly-promoted outfit are still fighting to secure their safety in the Premier League, and are currently sitting four points clear of the relegation zone heading into the final seven games.
Leeds’ transfer plans for next summer are set to see them try to further consolidate their position in the top-flight, and they are already clear as to how their side will set up next term.

How successful have Leeds been since their formation change?
Leeds endured a difficult start to the season after their promotion last term, and they were sat inside the relegation zone when Farke first altered their shape at the start of December.
The West Yorkshire outfit mounted a second-half comeback away at Manchester City on 29 November, and Farke opted to switch to the 3-5-2 from the off against Chelsea just days later.
Stats Before 3 December Since 3 December Games 13 18 Wins 3 4 Draws 2 10 Losses 8 4 Goal Difference -12 +1 Points 11 22 Longest Unbeaten Run 2 Games 7 Games
His team then embarked on a run of just one defeat from 10 games in all competitions, with their only reverse coming in the form of a crazy 4-3 defeat away at Newcastle on 7 January.
Their form has faltered a little since then, but Leeds have still lost just four of their 18 Premier League games since that win over Chelsea, and two of those came against Arsenal and Man City.
Farke’s men have picked up 22 of their 31 points since he provided a rethink to their tactical setup, and it has provided a spark to their survival fight that could carry them all the way to safety.
Leeds’ switch has been so successful that Farke and his staff have already pencilled it in to be used again next season, and the recruitment team are already prepared to align themselves with that plan.
Whites set for £100m war chest this summer
Leeds are set to have £100million available in transfer funds this summer, with their 49ers ownership preparing to back Farke and his staff even further if they remain in the Premier League.
The club look set to earn themselves a significant financial boost if they can beat the drop at the end of the campaign, with the owners committed to trying to establish the team in the top-flight once again.
That will be invaluable when it comes to the plans to try and reshape the squad to fit the new mould of the team, as additions are likely to be needed in several areas of the pitch.
There have already been suggestions of a new goalkeeper and a new striker coming through the door ahead of next term, and that is unlikely to be the full extent of the new faces who come in.
