Tottenham fans all say the same as protest footage shared after draw vs Man City

Tottenham fought their way back to earn a 2-2 draw with Manchester City on Sunday afternoon.

Thomas Frank’s side were facing a two-goal deficit at the half-time interval thanks to goals from Rayan Cherki and Antoine Semenyo, before a Dominic Solanke double rescued a point in the second period.

Frank has been under serious pressure at Tottenham of late, but Solanke saved his team from another defeat with a remarkable scorpion-kick finish to equalise in the 70th minute.

Fans have been growing increasingly frustrated with the Lilywhites both on and off the pitch in recent months, and that was due to come to a head during the clash with Pep Guardiola’s side.

Footage emerges of Tottenham fans’ protest towards ENIC

Tottenham saw Daniel Levy leave the club after almost 25 years at the helm earlier this season, with the much-maligned chairman no longer part of the hierarchy in North London.

However, that has done little to quell any of the fury that has continued to be directed towards majority shareholders ENIC, who fans feel have been lax in their running of the club in recent years.

The Lilywhites secured their first major trophy in 17 years when they tasted Europa League glory last term, but there is still a stance that they have not progressed sufficiently under the guidance of the Lewis family.

A protest was planned for fans to walk out during the 75th minute of Sunday’s clash with Manchester City, but Tottenham’s comeback quickly put paid to that plan, with footage shared to X showing the stadium concourse empty during the planned protest.

The supporter who posted the video questioned the point of the noise online in preparation for the demonstration if nobody planned to follow through with it.

Several fans then repsonded suggesting that the team needed the fans’ support at that stage of the game, while one even went as far as to call the timing of the planned protest “stupid.”

Fans were in agreement that had the game gone differently, the plan could have worked as expected, but given the circumstances on this occasion, it fell by the wayside.

Spurs fans fume at deadline day business

Tottenham secured the signing of James Wilson on an initial loan deal from Scottish side Hearts on Monday, but that was their only addition during deadline day.

The Premier League giants have the option of making that switch permanent in the summer, with the 18-year-old striker initially joining up with the Under-21s in North London.

The fact that Wilson isn’t an addition to the first-team squad has left fans hugely frustrated with their club’s work in the transfer market once again, as their move for Souza on 22 January proved to be their second and final incoming of the window at senior level.

Tottenham’s transfer business has let them down drastically in recent years, with significant spending on ultimately sub-par players, and that is one of the key areas that fans are keen to see change at their club.
