Tottenham are intent on retaining as much of their first-team squad as possible despite a great deal of transfer interest.

Tottenham have had a relatively quiet winter transfer window, with Conor Gallagher’s capture from Atletico Madrid the standout.

In defence, Tottenham snapped up Santos left-back Souza, but that is all in terms of incomings so far.

Tottenham sold Brennan Johnson to Crystal Palace last month but he is not pulling up any trees at Selhurst Park.

And one Spurs player who is not a key member of Thomas Frank’s squad is being linked with a Tottenham Hotspur Stadium exit – but at this rate, he may not get it.

Fiorentina desperately want Radu Dragusin

Ever since signing from Genoa in 2024, Radu Dragusin has struggled to become a regular in Tottenham’s starting lineup.

At the start of 2025, the centre-back suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury, one that stopped him from playing again for Spurs until late December.

Roma have been eyeing a move for Tottenham’s Dragusin and with Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven and Kevin Danso ahead of him in the defensive pecking order, he was well within his rights to seek an exit.

However, with the injuries piling up for Spurs, Dragusin was named in the starting lineup to face Manchester City on Sunday.

And Sunday’s print edition of Corriere dello Sport states that Fiorentina have made an attempt to recruit Dragusin.

They add, however, that such a move would be “difficult” as Dragusin’s preference is to play at more “prestigious” clubs.

Moreover, Tottenham are keen to keep their squad together ran than let players leave before the 2 February deadline.

If not, the Serie A strugglers could move for Chelsea defender Axel Disasi, who is also being linked with West Ham.

They are also said to be tracking Union Berlin centre-back Diogo Leite as they bid to stave off relegation to the Italian second tier.

Will Thomas Frank last the season at Tottenham?

One development that could change things a great deal at Tottenham is the future of head coach Frank.

The Dane swapped Brentford for Tottenham last summer but his spell at the north London team has been decidedly mixed.

Frank is facing the threat of being sacked at Tottenham as Spurs sit 15th in the Premier League table, just eight points above the relegation zone.

Tottenham are out of the Carabao Cup and FA Cup and had it not been for their strong Champions League form, where they have reached the last 16 of the competition, Frank would likely have been sacked.

If a new manager comes in, that could mean certain players on the fringes are promoted to a more prominent role for the second half of the season.

But it seems there would have to be an injury crisis for Dragusin to get regular game time in the coming months.
