Tottenham to make unpopular decision as player who started vs Frankfurt set for exit
Tottenham beat Frankfurt 2-0 in the Champions League to automatically qualify for last 16 on Wednesday night.
Thomas Frank was under intense pressure going into the match, and goals from Randal Kolo Muani and Dominic Solanke ensured that Spurs got the job done.
As a result of finishing fourth in the table, Tottenham won’t have to play in the two-legged knockout playoff round.
Given the amount of players that are currently injured, Frank will be delighted to have two fewer games on the calendar, and it could help get their domestic season back on track.
Several players turned up for Frank in Germany, but one man may have played his last game in a Tottenham shirt.
Randal Kolo Muani’s loan spell could be cut short by Tottenham
Kolo Muani has struggled to perform at Tottenham after joining on loan from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer.
Kolo Muani is expected to be recalled by Paris Saint-Germain, as the French striker’s former side, Juventus, are interested in bringing him back to Turin.
Italian media outlet Tuttosport reported that initial contact between Juventus and the striker’s entourage was made last Saturdya, and phone calls also took place on Tuesday.
Kolo Muani is keen on returning to Turin, especially as Spurs are pushing for him to leave due to Dominic Solanke’s return to full fitness.

Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio also reported that the key to Kolo Muani‘s return to Juventus will be made clear on Thursday, when Tottenham will make a final decision about his future.
Although he hasn’t scored in the Premier League yet, this could be an unpopular decision for fans.
With three goals in the Champions League so far, he has shown glimpses of promise in N17, and his latest effort against Frankfurt could be a sign of things to come from the 27-year-old.
He clearly has an excellent pedigree, and it’s up to Frank to see how he can best utilise both him and Solanke together.
Offloading Kolo Muani on the back of his confidence-boosting goal against his former side may not go down all that well among the fanbase.

Truth be told, Tottenham could have easily won by three or four goals at the Waldstadion, and Frank will see promising signs from the team’s performance.
Could Dominic Solanke and Kolo Muani play up front together?
Frank used Ivan Toney and Bryan Mbuemo up front together at Brentford, with Yoane Wissa going on to replace the former.
That was in a 3-5-2 system, and Spurs clearly aren’t equipped to play this way.
However, Kolo Muani could play on the left wing, but drift further in-field so he is closer to Solanke.
With Xavi Simons and Wilson Odobert also performing at the moment, that is certainly a dangerous attack that has a mix of everything.
Whether Kolo Muani is given that chance is up to Frank, and talks regarding his exit could continue until the transfer deadline on 2 February.
