View: 64% Rangers ace has been woeful under Rohl, this is how he can improve
Andreas Skov Olsen’s impact in the final third for Rangers has been simply unacceptable.
The Dane joined Danny Rol’s side Bears on loan for the rest of the season from German outfit Wolfsburg, with there being an option to sign him permanently for £8.6million.
Skov Olsen arrived at Rangers with an impressive reputation after a successful spell at Club Brugge, before his initial move to Germany.
On an international level, the 26-year-old has made 40 senior caps for Denmark, but for this international break, he’s been left at home.
Skov Olsen has been disappointing for Rangers and definitely needs to do a lot more in the Scottish Premiership if he wants to help the Bears win the title and have any hope of earning a potential international call-up for the World Cup.

The numbers that show why Andreas Skov Olsen isn’t cutting it for Rangers
Rohl was intent on bringing Skov Olsen to Govan, and it’s clear that he has a profile that suits his system.
However, the 26-year-old has failed to step up, and he hasn’t scored in his last six games in all competitions.
He has gone from hardly featuring for Wolfsburg to becoming a key component of a title-challenging side, and it’s not a shock that he has taken a little bit of time to adjust.
Stat Skov Olsen Appearances 7 Goals 1 Assists 2 Chances created 12 Touches in opposition box 18
Skov Olsen has won 63.9 per cent of his ground duels per 90 minutes in the Scottish Premiership, and it’s clear that Rohl values his defensive stability over Djeidi Gassama‘s trickery out wide.
However, it’s his attacking numbers that have been particularly woeful, which led to him being snubbed for Rangers’ 1-0 win over St Mirren just before the international break.
The bottom line is that his output is not good enough, and with just six shots in the league so far, he isn’t getting into good positions in the final third.
According to Sofascore, Skov Olsen has only recorded five successful dribbles and six accurate crosses, which is frankly abysmal.

Ultimately, as the Sofascore stats show above, the Denmark international goes missing in a lot of games for Rangers, and the only way he can improve is by playing closer to the likes of Youssef Chermiti and Ryan Naderi.
Is Danny Rohl to blame for Skov Olsen’s woes?
Of course, part of the issue is Rohl’s desire for his wingers to stay out wide by the touchline, but regardless, Skov Olsen hasn’t formed a great partnership with his new teammates.
His physical presence doesn’t suit a traditional winger’s traits, and he would be much more effective by making late runs into the box to get on the end of crosses.
Having thrived for Club Brugge, Skov Olsen clearly has a lot of quality, and Rohl must shoulder some of the blame for his poor start to life at Ibrox.

The 26-year-old has only recorded an xG of 0.32 in 384 minutes of Scottish Premiership action, which is a figure that must instantly be improved.
Only Skov Olsen can add more to his own game, but with Rohl not getting a tune out of him, it looks improbable that the Bears will buy him on a permanent deal in the summer.
