Findlay Curtis has been tipped for a big future at Rangers, and he has already proven he is ready for a first-team impact next season after impressing on loan.

Curtis has made seven appearances for Kilmarnock since arriving on a short-term deal, and scored his first goal for the club in the 2-0 win against Livingston on Saturday.

Despite being handed his Gers debut in January 2025 at the tender age of 18, the talented teenager was not able to fully break into the first-team at Ibrox.

Having made just one start this campaign, he was shipped out to Rugby Park in search of regular senior minutes and has gone on to make a good impact.

That bodes very well indeed for Curtis’ Rangers future, and Danny Rohl will be just as pleased if the youngster’s recent eye-catching performances are anything to go by.

Despite starting the season with a goal in Rangers’ 2-0 win against Panathinaikos in Champions League qualifying back in July, Curtis’ campaign never really took off.

Just four more starts followed before it was decided he would go out on loan. However, he has found a new lease of life in Ayrshire, standing out in a side scrapping to avoid relegation.

His rapid rise was capped off with his lung-busting display against Livingston last time out, with Curtis given a deserved 8.6 rating by Sofascore after the final whistle.

The prodigy took four shots in total and guided two on target, with one finding the back of the net. He also made two key passes and attempted five crosses, with one finding its man.

He showcased a cool head by completing 16 of his 19 passes, an impressive 84 per cent success rate, while 13 of his passes were inside the opposition’s half.

In total, Curtis registered 42 touches, two dribbles and 17 carries. Gers would have been pleased with the latter statistic, with Rohl on the hunt for more innovation in attack.

His heatmap throughout the 90 minutes reveals that the ace spent almost the entirety of the match in wide positions, in and around Livingston’s penalty area.

From there, he was able to cause real damage.

His parent club would certainly have taken notice. While he is far from the finished product, his unpredictability and confidence will excite Gers supporters.

Does Curtis have a future under Danny Rohl?

Curtis was handed his first senior Scotland call-up ahead of the international break, with Steve Clarke very impressed indeed with his electric performances for Killie.

However, his future under Rohl still looks worryingly uncertain, having made just two starts in all competitions under him. At this crucial stage, he needs to be starting more.

According to the Rangers Review, Gers view Curtis as a first-team left-winger for years to come, but this could change if he is not able to break into the senior picture next season.

It would be a travesty to lose a gem of this calibre, so it falls to Rohl and the Ibrox hierarchy to do all they can to prevent him from slipping through their fingers.
