View: Everton have reason to hope as Sky Sports reporter shares update on Moyes target
Everton can still sign Bouremouth defender Marcos Senesi if Tottenham Hotspur are relegated from the Premier League.
The Argentina international will be a free agent in the summer and has apparently reached an agreement on personal terms with Spurs to join them ahead of the 2026-27 campaign, according to Florian Plettenberg.
While the Bournemouth centre-back has given his commitment to the North London outfit, the Sky Sports journalist revealed on 24 April that it depends on them staying in the English top flight.
As things stand, Tottenham are 18th in the table and there’s every possibility that they could go down to the Championship, which will undoubtedly give hope to the Toffees over possibly getting a deal over the line for the 28-year-old.
David Moyes has lost Jarrad Branthwaite at the Merseyside outfit once again due to injury and it would make sense for them to reinforce their backline in the summer.

Everton transfer priority clear for David Moyes
Senesi has emerged as a target for Moyes and it’s understandable considering Branthwaite’s persistent fitness issues.
There’s no guarantee that the young English defender will remain fit for most of next season and it would make sense for the Toffees to look at alternatives.
Season Appearances Goal involvements Average rating 2025/26 35 5 7.08 2024/25 19 0 6.92 2023/24 36 9 7.21 2022/23 34 2 6.70
While the Scottish manager has done well since taking over from Sean Dyche, there will be added expectations to compete for titles next season.
If the Blues end up qualifying for Europe, quality in depth will be essential to make a mark on all fronts and the left-footed Bournemouth defender seems like the right fit for them.
Dan Friedkin already triggers Hill Dickinson Stadium contingency
Everton extended Michael Keane’s contract, and rightly so, after the defender’s contributions in the current campaign.
Branthwaite has been sidelined for most of the season, but the former Manchester United centre-back hasn’t let Moyes feel the 23-year-old’s absence.

Another addition to the backline should be on the Toffees’, but Dan Friedkin has made sure they don’t feel pressured into buying someone in the summer.
Keane and James Tarkowski have been solid for the Merseysiders and there’s no reason they can’t maintain their standards in the upcoming campaign.
