View: Everton player surely on his way out as Moyes confirms starting XI vs Brentford
Everton start with James Tarkowski and Jarrad Branthwaite at centre-back against Brentford in the Premier League on Saturday.
Michael Keane has been dropped to the bench by David Moyes, and the defender now arguably knows where he stands in the Scottish manager’s plans.
Despite the English defender’s influential performances this season, it seems like he’s still behind Tarkowski and Branthwaite in the pecking order.
Keane’s contract at Hill Dickinson Stadium expires in June and it wouldn’t be surprising to see him on his way out in the coming months.
Moyes’ starting lineup at the Gtech Community Stadium on 11 April is undoubtedly good enough to secure the three points, but some players may already be wondering about their future.

David Moyes has transfer headache at Everton
Merlin Rohl moved to Hill Dickinson Stadium on loan from SC Freiburg last summer and his move will become permanent at the end of the season.
The Germany Under-21 international has hardly played for the Toffees this season, with Moyes clearly preferring other options in the starting lineup.
Premier League Statistics Merlin Rohl Appearances 12 Starts 2 Minutes per game 31 Big chances missed 1 Total duesl won per game 3.0 (45%) Average Sofascore rating 6.51
It doesn’t look like the Scottish manager trusts the 23-year-old midfielder and it would have made more sense for the Blues to have an option to buy him instead of an obligation.
Rohl’s future will surely be on the agenda in the upcoming transfer window if he continues to struggle for game time and it wouldn’t be surprising to see him leave for pastures new.
Beto leaves The Friedkin Group with dilemma
Beto has come into his own the last few games and has cemented his place in the starting lineup for the final few games of the Premier League season.
The Guinea-Bissau international is making a case to be the first-choice number nine going into the 2026-27 campaign, but Moyes may have other plans.

With qualification to Europe a realistic scenario at Hill Dickinson Stadium, the Scottish manager may look to sign a more reliable goalscorer.
The Freidkin Group will surely have to decide whether they want to keep Beto at the Merseyside outfit as a backup number nine or possibly cash in on him if a reasonable offer arrives.
