View: Everton star could become Moyes' new Wayne Rooney as stats reveal all
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has proven to be an excellent signing for Everton, as the midfielder continues his fine form for the Toffees.
The 27-year-old found himself on the scoresheet for the sixth time in the Premier League this season as the Blues’ push for European football continued with a 2-0 win against Burnley.
David Moyes will no doubt be delighted with the impact he has had on the Toffees, and that may remind the Scotsman of one of his former players.
Now, thanks to that goal, Dewsbury-Hall could match an achievement completed by Evertonian Wayne Rooney.

How Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall can match a Wayne Rooney Everton feat
Dewsbury-Hall’s arrival at the Hill Dickinson Stadium has been clear to see, with data now backing up that impact.
According to Opta Data Editor Aaron Barton, only eight English Everton players have had more impact than Dewsbury-Hall in their first Premier League season for the Toffees.
And there is still time for the midfielder to make his way up the list with nine games left to go.
Of course, Peter Beardsley and Tony Cottee did not achieve this feat in their first season for Everton, as they joined the Merseyside club in 1991 and 1988, respectively.
However, they are jotted down due to the 1992-1993 season being the first in the Premier League.
Player Season Goals + Assists Peter Beardsley* 1992-1993 17 Tony Cottee* 1992-1993 13 Andrew Johnson 2006-2007 13 Nick Barmby 1996-1997 11 Kevin Campbell 1998-1999 11 Marcus Bent 2004-2005 10 Dwight McNeil 2022-2023 10 Wayne Rooney 2002-2003 10 Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall 2025-2026 9
Notably on the list is Rooney, who has achieved only one more goal contribution than Dewsbury-Hall currently has.
Rooney completed that feat as a teenager, but nonetheless, Dewsbury-Hall is now one goal or assist away from matching him.
Where could Dewsbury-Hall end on that list?
Right now, Dewsbury-Hall has picked up three goal contributions in his last nine games for Everton, so if he continues at that hit rate, he could end up fourth on that list.
It would be a remarkable first season for the 27-year-old at Everton, and he would feel unfortunate to miss out on the England World Cup squad due to that.

His performances for the Toffees could send them into European competition for the first time since 2017-2018.
Just the sheer fact that there is any equivalence to a player such as Rooney showcases how good a signing Moyes secured this season.
