The Toffees are chasing Europe, but the Citizens are chasing Premier League glory. It is poised to be an enticing affair and one with strong permutations for both outfits.

The Scotsman has plenty of decisions to make ahead of the game, including how the Toffees approach their game plan.

Everton will have to dig deep against Manchester City
According to data collated by Mohammad Adnan, Manchester City are one of the worst teams in the Premier League when it comes to conceding big chances from fast breaks.
However, when it comes to regulars, they do not often concede many.
Everton’s defence this season Total Goals conceded per game 1.2 xG conceded 50.5 Clean sheets 11
Additionally, the Citizens rarely concede goals from those chances, with them landing somewhere in the 25 per cent to 30 per cent mark according to the graph.
For Everton, they are in the middle of the road. They rarely concede big chances from fast breaks, which is likely down to sitting deeper and being less open than other Premier League sides.
While when it comes to big chances conceded from regular play, they sit near the halfway mark but seem to concede 35 per cent to 40 per cent of those.
The data presents a game where the Toffees will have to sit deep and soak up any pressure put onto them. Meanwhile, even if they get chances, they will have to have luck on their side, with City rarely conceding from them.
Why Beto must start for Everton
Beto is back from injury, and that is a huge boost for Everton, particularly for this fixture. The Guinea-Bissau international’s presence could cause an issue for the City defenders due to his physicality.
Moyes should look to keep him on the halfway line at all times and attempt to punt long balls up to him to run onto in an effort to create those fast-break chances.

Alongside Iliman Ndiaye, who is also primed to cause Man City problems, Everton have plenty of threats for Monday night.
However, whether they can be successful will solely rely on if the Blues construct a solid game plan and can soak up plenty of pressure.
