View: Moyes surely reveals intention on Everton player's future after what happens vs Burnley

David Moyes has made no changes to his Everton starting lineup against Burnley in the Premier League on Tuesday.

Scott Parker’s team have travelled to Hill Dickinson Stadium on 3 March as they look to get out of the relegation zone in the final 10 games of the season.

The Toffees have continued with the same team that beat Newcastle United 3-2 at St James’ Park and will hope for a similar result again in L4.

Moyes has trusted the backline of Jake O’Brien, James Tarkowski, Jarrad Branthwaite and Vitalii Mykolenko to get the job done in Merseyside, surely leaving speculation on the future of Michael Keane.

Michael Keane may be set for Everton exit after Burnley snub

Keane has been left out of the Toffees’ starting lineup for the second consecutive game against his former team.

The Englishman’s current contract at Hill Dickinson Stadium expires at the end of the season, and Moyes may have just revealed his intentions over the centre-back’s future.

Despite the 33-year-old’s consistently impressive displays in the current campaign, it looks like he’s still behind Tarkowski and Branthwaite in the pecking order.

If Keane looks for a guarantee regarding his minutes at the end of the 2025-26 season, the Scottish manager could potentially opt to let him leave for free.

Many fans in L4 believe the defender has been overlooked for his displays in recent months, and it remains to be seen what the future holds for him.

Everton have expressed interest in Bournemouth defender Marcos Senesi, with the Argentina international set to become a free agent.

It looks like the Toffees are already planning for a future without Keane and his exclusion from the starting lineup only reinforces the idea that he isn’t an influential member of the team when everyone is fit.

The Friedkin Group have a big summer coming up as Blues supporters would like to see major investment in the squad after a few tame transfer windows.

Keane can undoubtedly be a pivotal squad player if he remains at the Merseyside outfit, but only time will tell whether he will be offered an extension.
