David Moyes will be the key to Everton’s European hopes as his record for the conclusion of the Premier League season emerges.

The Toffees are in the middle of the battle for European football, and it would mark the first campaign in Europe since the 2017-2018 season.

Everton’s final three games are by no means easy. They face Crystal Palace, Sunderland and a relegation-battling Tottenham.

The Scotsman has plenty of experience in these situations and a plethora of games against those opponents.

And ahead of Everton’s end to the season, here is how Moyes is expected to do based on his history as a manager versus those aforementioned sides.

What is David Moyes’ record against Everton’s final Premier League opponents?

Moyes’ record against Crystal Palace, Sunderland and Tottenham holds hope that the Toffees can end the season strongly.

Combined, against those three opponents, history suggests the Toffees should earn 5.17 points. Rounded down, that would see Everton end the campaign on 53 points.

That tally suggests that Everton would end the season unbeaten and secure one win and two draws. It would also be their highest points total since the 2020-2021 season.

Under Carlo Ancelotti, the Blues achieved a 59 points total, finishing in 10th place. Now, this season, they could finish higher but with a lesser tally, showcasing how difficult the Premier League has become.

According to James Tarkowksi, Everton feel they need seven points out of nine to make it into Europe this season.

Moyes would only need to better one of those prospective draws, and with Tottenham in some of their worst form ever, that could be a fixture to target an improvement.

However, ahead of this weekend, Thierno Barry could be Everton’s key to victory.

Would 53 points be enough to qualify for Europe?

As things stand, 53 points may be just shy of the tally required, but it does give Everton hope nonetheless.

According to Opta’s supercomputer projections, sixth place to eighth place are set to end on between 54 and 55 points.

If Moyes can somehow engineer three wins out of three to end the season, European football would have a much higher chance of arriving to Hill Dickinson Stadium.,

While the last four games have ended without a win, the Toffees need to turn it around quickly before their dreams begin to fade.
