View: Moyes to pull his hair out as supercomputer predicts Crystal Palace vs Everton

Crystal Palace are looking to put a dent in Everton‘s European ambitions on Sunday, as the sides lock horns at Selhurst Park.

It has been a frustrating period for the Toffees, who have fallen to a late heartbreak in each of their last three games.

Losing against Liverpool and West Ham, before playing out a draw with Manchester City, David Moyes‘ side have been left outside the European places with three to go.

The ambition still remains, with the Blues just two points away from a Conference League spot, though they must put three points on the board sooner rather than later.

And based on the latest prediction from Opta’s supercomputer, Moyes could well be pulling his hair out as his side take on Crystal Palace.

Everton considered underdogs vs Crystal Palace

After a tumultuous period fighting at the wrong end of the Premier League, the Toffees have found themselves back in the race for European football for the first time since 2017.

These hopes have taken a hit in recent weeks though, with a winless run stretching back to the return from the international break.

And based on the supercomputer prediction, this run is set to continue – making it five without a win for the Toffees.

Allocated just a 30.7 per cent chance of taking all three points, Moyes’ side are tipped as the underdogs in South London, with Palace carrying a 42.6 per cent likelihood.

The Blues have dropped points in their two most recent away clashes against Brentford and West Ham.

This time, they could really do with a win as they visit the capital again, keeping their European hopes in tact.

Everton must take advantage of distracted Crystal Palace to keep hold of European dream

As a club, Palace have been exactly where the Toffees want to be this season, with the Eagles reaching the Conference League final on Thursday.

Sitting 15th in the Premier League standings, it has been a difficult term for Oliver Glasner’s side, who have struggled to balance league and European commitments after unexpectedly qualifying as a result of their FA Cup win last term.

Everton are looking to qualify for Europe for the first time since 2017, and must be feeling confident of taking advantage of a Palace side fresh from a midweek clash with Shakhtar Donetsk.

Moyes’ side are still in the mix, despite the recent run, with just four points separating themselves and Bournemouth in sixth.

However, they must begin to add sizeable points hauls onto the board sooner rather than later.

Taking advantage of a distracted Crystal Palace, the chance is there for Everton to finally get back to winning ways on Sunday, in spite of the supercomputer prediction.
