View: Skov Olsen question remains unanswered after Rangers display vs Dundee United

Andreas Skov Olsen has yet to live up to expectations at Rangers.

Depending on how Hearts fare in their clash with Livingston on Sunday, Rangers may well end the weekend at the top of the Scottish Premiership table, albeit on goal difference.

Their 4-2 win at home to Dundee United saw several talking points emerge, most of which were positive, with Mikey Moore among those having impressed.

However, Skov Olsen was withdrawn at half-time after a fairly innocuous performance at Ibrox, and not for the first time this season.

But it begs the question: are we yet to see the real version, or is Skov Olsen not good enough for Rangers?

Andreas Skov Olsen was wasteful vs Dundee United

Skov Olsen registered an assist against Dundee United on Saturday, but the rest of his performance left a lot to be desired.

He failed to complete any of his three attempted crosses, while also losing all four of his ground duels on the day.

The Dane was dispossessed three times, while making just one recovery attempt to win possession back for the Light Blues.

But in general, he just lacked the level of threat that is needed on that right flank, especially when taking into account that posed by Moore on the other side.

So is Skov Olsen not good enough? Or have we simply not seen the best version of him?

Having watched him countless times this season, I still side with the former, but if his output doesn’t improve, he may find himself out of the team.

Danny Rohl has clear call to make vs Falkirk

The Light Blues will continue their title push when they travel to face Falkirk next weekend, and to secure victory, Skov Olsen should be dropped.

Djeidi Gassama was flawless after his introduction in the second half, having also registered an assist for Thelo Aasgaard’s goal.

His confidence will be high after his showing at Ibrox, while Skov Olsen will still be kicking himself that he is yet to set Scottish football alight.
