View: TFG have chance to show Everton ambitions, forward signing would be clear upgrade
Christian Kofane would be an excellent coup for Everton, as the striker would provide an upgrade on both Beto and Thierno Barry – and the numbers show it.
The Blues have struggled in front of goal this season, with both of their number nines still yet to hit double digits in the Premier League.
As it stands, they are currently trending to stay below 10 goals before the end of the season.
The struggles of both the Guinean-Bissau international and the Frenchman have not made Everton’s push for Europe any easier.
Ahead of Everton’s summer transfer window, if David Moyes can secure the arrival of Kofane, the Toffees would be getting quite the upgrade.

How Christian Kofane compares to Everton pair Beto and Thierno Barry
Everton face plenty of competition to sign Kofane, but looking at the data, they would be signing an excellent forward.
The 19-year-old has been a bit-part player for Bayer Leverkusen this season but has still managed to greatly impact games despite limited starts.
Christian Kofane in Bundesliga 2025-2026 Stats Appearances 24 Starts 9 Minutes played 1030 Minutes per goal contribution 129
The biggest upgrade the Cameroonian provides over both Beto and Thierno Barry is how often he gets involved in games and the frequency of his contributions as detailed by Sofascore.
As the table above shows, Kofane averages a goal contribution every 129 minutes. While he has played seven games less than the two Toffees strikers, all three do share a similar minutes per game total, making a comparison much fairer.
- Kofane – 43 minutes per game
- Beto – 40 minutes per game
- Barry – 54 minutes per game
This season, Beto is averaging a goal or assist every 177 minutes, with Barry impacting games on a lower frequency with 277 minutes for the same stat.
Kofane also tends to have more shots in his appearances, with 1.4 compared to the Everton duo at 0.8. However, this could be put down to team style rather than individual quality.

Bayer Leverkusen average more shots per game (14) in comparison to Everton (11). However, you cannot rule out that those shots are coming from Kofane getting himself into great positions to score.
Former Everton striker Samuel Eto’o has tipped Kofane for big heights
Everton signed Samuel Eto’o on the back end of what was a legendary career, but now they can sign the next Eto’o at the twilight of his.
The former Everton striker has previously issued big praise for Kofane stating: “He has everything it takes to do better than Samuel Eto’o.”
Although interest from other clubs such as Arsenal, Barcelona and Bayern Munich, among others, paints a difficult deal to make, that should not stop the Blues from trying to sign one of Europe’s top talents.

With a potential season in European competition on the horizon and a new state-of-the-art stadium, it is time for the Friedkin Group to be ambitious and return Everton to the top of the English pyramid.
Signing Kofane ahead of those other interested parties would be a major statement and would really set in stone where the ownership sees the direction of the Merseyside club heading.
