View: Why Rohl has easy Rangers call between Rommens and Meghoma
Danny Rohl is going to have to make some big Rangers selection calls over the coming weeks.
Gers are six points behind the Scottish Premiership leaders Hearts after 29 rounds of enthralling league action, with the title race looking set to go down to the wire.
Rohl is under the most pressure he’s faced since replacing Russell Martin in October last year, with results not going his sides’ way in recent outings.
Following Rangers’ Scottish Cup defeat to Celtic, the German is sure to make changes to his side for the trip to St Mirren on Sunday, as he looks to find a first win in three this weekend.

How do Tuur Rommens and Jayden Meghoma’s stats compare?
Tuur Rommens has been excellent for Rangers since singing from Belgian side Westerlo in this season’s winter transfer window, and is already well on his way to making the left-back spot his own at Ibrox.
As a result of his strong start to life in Glasgow, the previous occupier of that role, Jayden Meghoma, is now firmly out in the Rangers cold.
Indeed, the Brentford loanee hasn’t appeared in a Premiership fixture since the 1-1 draw with Motherwell on 11 February, but he was brought on in extra-time against Celtic in the Scottish Cup last time out.
So, with Rommens now posting a decent sample size to go off from his first four league outings for Gers, how does his numbers compare with Meghoma’s, and is Rohl favouring the right player?

Well, as per Sofascore, Rommens is averaging 0.5 shots on target per game compared to Meghoma’s 0.2, whilst the Belgian is also recording 0.3 assists per game whilst the Englishman is posting 0.2.
Rommens has also created three big chances so far this season, which when you consider Meghoma has created only one more than that from 19 more Premiership appearances, and that’s a superb return from the new arrival.
Meghoma has won more ground duels (60.8 per cent) than Rommens (58.8 per cent) has, but the latter is way ahead in both successful dribbles (66.7 per cent v 38.9 per cent) and aerial duels won (70 per cent v 21.1 per cent) respectively.
So, on the balance of things, it’s probably safe to say that Rohl has the right idea starting Rommens over Meghoma, but that’s not to say that the teenager isn’t pushing him for minutes either.
Rangers should still consider permanent move for Meghoma
Every Batman needs their Robin, and every quality starting player needs a strong player to compete and push them for gametime.
That’s exactly what Meghoma is doing for Rommens, and so if the youngster is keen and a deal is doable, then Gers should definitely give some major consideration to securing his permanent signature this summer.
Meghoma’s six assists and one goal from 38 total appearances this season also suggests that he could be pushed on further up the pitch, and maybe transition into more of a left-winger moving forward.
And with Mikey Moore set to return to Tottenham as things stand, signing Meghoma for that position could be a very shrewd move by Rangers indeed.
