Wenham hits out over Solanke transfer talk, names three Tottenham players that could leave with relegation
Dominic Solanke is the latest player to be linked with a Tottenham Hotspur exit.
The English forward is reportedly a target for Newcastle, who could be set to pounce if Spurs are relegated from the Premier League.
Eddie Howe is understood to be keen to reunite with the forward with whom he worked at Bournemouth.
Talk of a Tottenham firesale continues as they struggle, just one point above the relegation zone, with nine games left to play.

What was said about Solanke Tottenham exit rumours?
John Wenham has hit out at the reports linking Solanke to the Magpies, claiming that he would stay at any cost, and not be part of any potential Tottenham clearout.
Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, he said: “I saw one rumour saying that Newcastle are watching the Solanke situation, and if Tottenham go down….
“At the end of the day, we will need Solanke if we go down to lead our charge back up. He would be the one who would be staying.
“I do think he’d stay, because unlike every other club that goes down, we’re not going to need to have a fire sale to raise money.
“We’re still going to have Beyonce playing at the stadium, we’re still going to have Tyson Fury, the people that attend those events, and the promoters that put on those events, they don’t care what divisions Tottenham are in, they’re interested in the facilities and the stadium and it being available and able to hold 60,000 people.

“Unlike these other clubs that suddenly need to sell for a cut price, we don’t, we’ll be in control with the contracts, with the money, with the parachute payments, etc, Solanke and others, unless we get a price that we want, will not be going.
“There are some obvious ones that I think would go, Romero, van de Ven, Vicario, but again, long contracts on all of them, so Tottenham would be in control of the situation.”
Why Tottenham absolutely cannot be relegated
While Wenham believes that the Lilywhites could keep Solanke even if they are in the second tier, they cannot afford to be relegated.
Many of the players have clauses that reduce wages by 50 per cent if the club go down, but the wages would still be astronomical considering the lack of revenue that would be coming in.
Plenty of the playing squad will push to depart, as they will want to play at the top-level of the game, so it could ruin the squad too.
Ultimately, it would set Spurs back so much, both financially and in terms of the players that they can attract.
Summer Focus: Survival contingent
Risk: £250m hit if relegated
Long-term: Maddison, Kulusevski
