Werder Bremen boss makes Felix Agu decision ahead of Hoffenheim clash

Werder Bremen head coach Daniel Thioune has weighed in on the availability of Super Eagles defender Felix Agu ahead of their crucial clash against TSG Hoffenheim this afternoon, Soccernet.ng reports.

The game at the PreZero Arena will be a send-off for Nigerian defender Kevin Akpoguma, who'll be bringing his 13-year spell at the club to an end.

Felix Agu's last appearance for Werder Bremen came in his side's 1-3 loss to FC Koln, where he played 79 minutes before pulling up with a muscle injury.

Felix Agu: Werder Bremen boss plays down starting role against Hoffenheim

Agu has started just nine games for Thioune's side this season, in a campaign that has been riddled with injury problems for the Nigerian.

After missing about four months due to ankle and adductor injuries, the 26-year-old is back in training again, but his best bet will come only from the bench, as revealed by the club's coach.

“Felix has been in training for a few days, so we have to think about how and when Felix can help the team alongside my coaching crew,” the German coach said in quotes revealed by Deichstube.

“However, I currently rule out that he can be in the starting eleven in Hoffenheim.

“We still have to wait for the final training afterwards, but if nothing happens there, I’m good that he is at our disposal,” Daniel Thioune said about Felix Agu.
