'Wow' - Martin Keown witnesses Everton player do something he's never seen before vs Burnley

Martin Keown was surprised to see Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall boot the ball sky-high at kick-off for Everton against Burnley on Tuesday.

Garner and the former Chelsea midfielder stood on the ball before the whistle as Scott Parker’s team travel to Hill Dickinson Stadium on 3 March.

The 24-year-old passed it to Dewsbury-Hall at kick-off, with the midfielder putting his laces through it.

It was certainly a peculiar decision from David Moyes’ team, with Keown claiming he’s never seen that done before.

Everton to take one step closer to David Moyes dream with win vs Burnley

Going into the fixture, the Toffees are eighth in the table after their 3-2 win over Newcastle United in their previous Premier League game.

Moyes has talked up the prospect of qualifying for Europe at Hill Dickinson Stadium and the Blues could potentially take a step towards that goal with a win over the Clarets as James Tarkowski’s strike gives them the advantage going into the break.

If Brentford lose at the Vitality Stadium, the Merseyside outfit could be level on points with the seventh-placed team by the end of the evening.

It looks like the Scottish manager has an impressive game plan to get the better of Parker, with the Toffees dominating play in the opening 45 minutes.

If the kick-off was anything to go by, the Blues may have other tactics up their sleeves to catch the Lancashire club off guard.

Speaking on TNT Sports 3 on 3 March, Keown said, “Never seen that from a kick-off before. Wow”

David Moyes gives player new lease of life at Hill Dickinson Stadium

Beto has been a bit-part player for Everton this season, starting his 10th Premier League game against Burnley.

Moyes has mostly opted to bring the 28-year-old striker off the bench in the final minutes of matches in recent months, with Thierno Barry the first-choice number nine.

The Guinea-Bissau centre-forward has made an impact coming off the bench and has changed the Scottish manager’s mind at Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Fans in L4 will hope Beto and Barry can motivate each other until the end of the season and find the back of the net consistently to go further up the table.
