Bournemouth 2-2 Manchester United: Junior Kroupi penalty rescues draw after Harry Maguire red card
Manchester United and Bournemouth played out a thrilling 2-2 draw on Friday night with Harry Maguire sent off after giving away a penalty in the second half.
Bruno Fernandes put United ahead from the penalty spot in the 61st minute but Bournemouth were level six minutes later through an excellent finish from Ryan Christie.
United were ahead once again four minutes later as James Hill headed Fernandes’ corner into his own net.
But Bournemouth were level for a second time in the game after Harry Maguire pulled back Evanilson inside United’s area. The United defender was given a straight red card by referee Stuart Attwell while Junior Kroupi stepped up to send Senne Lammens the wrong way.
The draw leaves United third in the Premier League, four points ahead of fourth-placed Aston Villa and six points behind second-placed Manchester City, who have a game in hand.
Bournemouth, meanwhile, are 10th in the Premier League and have now drawn their last five games.
