Caoimhin Kelleher: Liverpool must regret selling goalkeeper after ‘world-class’ Everton display
Caoimhin Kelleher may have some of those back at Liverpool regretting his sale last summer as he continues to prove himself at Brentford.
The goalkeeper position has rarely been a position of concern for the Reds over the last few seasons, but with Alisson now sidelined, potentially until the end of the season, it certainly is now.
Giorgi Mamardashvili has done little to persuade the supporters that he can take the No.1 spot anytime soon, featuring in back-to-back defeats to Man City and PSG away from Anfield.
Liverpool’s transfer chiefs will be looking ahead to the summer already, but some behind the scenes may be unable to shake the feeling that more trust should have been placed in Kelleher sooner.

Caoimhin Kelleher may cause Liverpool to have transfer regrets
In the 22nd minute, Idrissa Gueye unleashed a fizzing shot from just inside the penalty area, one which fired through a group of players, forcing Kelleher into a very late save.
And while Beto was caught offside for the rebound, the Bees’ shot-stopper wasn’t to know that, bouncing back up to push the striker’s short-range effort around the post, completely dumbfounding his opponent.
Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live, transcribed by BBC Sport (11 April), Mark Schwarzer said: “Absolutely brilliant from Kelleher – the initial chance from the edge of the box, the strike from Gueye.

“He sees it late, but flicks out a strong right hand. Then the reaction on the rebound is world-class.”
Arne Slot could be about to lose Alisson permanently
Arne Slot could already be without his first-choice goalkeeper until the end of the season, and it might get even worse from that point, as rumours circulate around the Brazilian’s future.
Football Insider understands that Liverpool won’t entertain offers for Mamardashvili due to uncertainty around Alisson, but there is no guarantee he’d be a starter if Kelleher were still at the club.
There are reports that the 33-year-old is in talks to join Juventus at the end of the current campaign, potentially bringing an end to his eight years at the club, along with Andy Robertson and Mohamed Salah.
Jurgen Klopp’s squad is quickly being torn apart, and Anfield could have yet another manager in the dugout if current trends continue before the end of the season.
