Championship club submit improved offer for Sheffield Wednesday’s Bailey Cadamarteri
Blackburn Rovers have submitted an improved offer to sign striker Bailey Cadamarteri from financially-stricken Sheffield Wednesday.
Sheffield Wednesday have little chance of staying up in the Championship this season, so the rest of this campaign is more about pride and playing for the fans than anything else.
Their financial issues have seen them deducted a whopping 18 points from their total, meaning they sit bottom of the second tier on minus seven, 32 points away from safety.
The Owls have been searching for a new owner for nearly three months now, with James Bord named as the preferred bidder to take over soon, but a deal is not close to completion as it stands.
20-year-old Cadamarteri has been the subject of serious interest from Blackburn, as he impresses for Wednesday despite their issues, and he could well be on his way to Ewood Park soon after a new development.

Blackburn return with new and improved offer for Bailey Cadamarteri
Sheffield United were interested in a move for Cadamarteri last summer, but he stayed at Hillsborough and has scored twice in 29 appearances so far this term.
Hibernian saw a £1million bid to sign Cadamarteri rejected earlier this month, while Blackburn‘s first offer was also knocked back after that.
According to a new report from Alan Nixon, Rovers have contacted Wednesday’s administrators with a new offer for Cadamarteri.
Their new bid is higher than Hibs’ £1m, but still below the level Wednesday hope to get for one of their last assets, and so Blackburn will need to return with a third offer soon.
Blackburn could sign Arsenal’s Osman Kamara this month
Blackburn are fighting relegation from the Championship in 22nd place right now, after a run of eight games without a win.
It is no wonder that they are targeting Cadamarteri to add more firepower to Valerien Ismael’s attack, with Arsenal youngster Kamara also potentially set to join Blackburn soon after being seen on trial for their youth team.
The 19-year-old scored for Blackburn‘s under-21s in their 5-0 Premier League 2 victory against Birmingham on Monday.
He has been training with the Gunners’ first team over the last few years, but could now leave to join Rovers as he approaches the end of his first professional contract.
