Crystal Palace player ratings vs West Ham United – Jefferson Lerma 8/10, Jorgen Stand Larsen awful
Crystal Palace had to settle for a draw against West Ham United on Monday as it ended 0-0 at Selhurst Park.
It was an unimaginative game, as both clubs struggled to create decent chances throughout.
Palace arguably had the best opening in the first half, when Brennan Johnson headed wide of the goal, despite being unmarked in the box.
West Ham also had their chances, and had much more of the ball throughout, but struggled to find a way through the hosts’ stubborn back line.
In the end, a draw was probably a fair result, as Palace continued their unbeaten Premier League run.
Jorgen Stand Larsen offered nothing up top vs West Ham
Jorgen Strand Larsen has struggled to score in recent weeks, and he arguably had his worst performance since signing on Monday.
Starting up top, he offered absolutely nothing and was unable to link the play, let alone have a decent effort on goal.
Jorgen Stand Larsen’s stats vs West Ham Minutes 59 Shots 1 xG 0.14 Passing accuracy 47% Dispossessed 2 Chances created 0
Even when good crosses were put into the box, the striker was nowhere to be seen and simply could not hook onto the ball.
Eventually, on the hour mark, he was hooked off the pitch, in what was an anonymous performance from the Norway international.
If Strand Larsen wants to cement himself as the number one striker next season, he simply has to offer more at Palace.
Jefferson Lerma puts in solid display for Crystal Palace
Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told exclusively told Football Insider that Palace were looking to extend Jefferson Lerma’s contract, and it is easy to see why.
In a game lacking quality, Lerma was one of the few players on the pitch to shine.

In the first-half, he played a beautiful ball to Johnson, who was unable to guide his effort on target.
The midfielder also proved to be excellent defensively and continuously won the ball back.
Therefore, while there were few players that turned up at Selhurst Park, Lerma can hold his head high.
