Stanley Nwabali: Two African moneybags eyeing Super Eagles goalie
Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali could get a club soon, as one East African club and another South African side are interested in him, Soccernet.ng reports.
Nwabali has been without a club since he parted ways with South African side Chippa United. He had joined the club from Katsina United in 2022 and grew to become a key player, even serving as the captain.
It was his impressive performance for them that led former Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro to call him up to take over between the sticks for Nigeria just before the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
Nwabali was so good in that tournament that he was linked to several top sides on the continent. He was tipped to join Saudi-based side Al Ettifaq and Championship club QPR, but nothing concrete came of those talks.

The speculation surrounding an exit didn't stop. And after his impressive campaign for Nigeria at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, which concluded in January, the 29-year-old ended his contract at Chippa United.
At the time, it seemed like he already had an offer and had decided to end his association with the South African side so he could move on. But apparently, that wasn't the case. Since then, the former Enyimba shot-stopper has remained without a job.
But recently, two big African clubs have been linked with his signature.
Stanley Nwabali: The Two Clubs Interested in Nigeria's No.1 Goalie

Amid all the speculation surrounding Stanley Nwabali's future, two clubs have repeatedly been linked with the Super Eagles star.
These clubs are Tanzanian side Simba SC and South African giants Kaizer Chiefs.
Simba are one of the richest clubs in Africa and are regular contenders in the CAF Champions League. Kaizer Chiefs are also one of the most prestigious clubs in South Africa.
Last month, there were reports that Chiefs were going to make a move for Nwabali, but that ultimately did not happen.

For these two teams, a player like Nwabali would be a boost to their goalkeeping department, and they won't have to pay a transfer fee.
The main reason Nwabali hasn't been able to make a move is because these leagues are in their closing stages. When these leagues end, he will definitely get his move. However, it remains to be seen where.
