Everton eye winter transfer for former Aston Villa star, player's stance shared - report
Jhon Duran has emerged as a late winter target for Everton.
If there is one position that Everton need to strengthen before the deadline on 2 February, it is certainly their attacking options.
While Thierno Barry has started to find the net for the Toffees, David Moyes has very few options beyond that in terms of someone who can score the goals.
Now that Beto has been linked with an exit from Merseyside, the need for another striker is even stronger, though the arrival of one is still needed regardless of what happens in that regard.
And now, the Toffees have set their sights on former Aston Villa striker Duran.

Everton’s dealings with Fenerbahce may not be over yet
Everton were heavily linked with Youssef En-Nesyri this winter, though any talk of a deal in that regard has died down entirely.
Now, the Toffees have turned their attention to his Fenerbahce teammate, Duran, according to a report from A Spor.
The 22-year-old has struggled for form since his loan move to Turkey, having scored just five goals in 21 appearances, though his record elsewhere has earned him the reputation he has today.
- 18 appearances for Al Nassr, 12 goals scored
- 78 appearances for Aston Villa, 20 goals scored
Any deal would likely involve Fenerbahce agreeing to his loan being terminated, though the Toffees would then have to negotiate a fee with his parent club, Al Nassr.
However, the same report that claims Everton are interested also states that Duran doesn’t want to leave Fenerbahce.
The Friedkins are days away from serious scrutiny
If Everton end the winter window without any new arrivals, that is bad enough in itself.
However, to end the window without the arrival of a goalscoring striker would be incredibly poor, to say the least.
Everton showed plenty of ambition in the summer transfer window with moves for the likes of Jack Grealish, but have shown nothing of the sort since.
Failure to address those concerns will almost certainly set back the progress they can make for the rest of the season, and with just days left in the window, time is rapidly running out.
As for Moyes, it remains to be seen how calm he is about the situation, having been promised a certain level of ambition by The Friedkin Group.
