Expert: Andy Robertson set to 'agree' free transfer after late Tottenham twist
Andy Robertson is set to assess his options to leave Liverpool on a free transfer in the summer after a mid-season move to Tottenham was blocked.
Tottenham made a move for Robertson in January in a bid to reinforce their back line, but ultimately missed out after the Reds pulled the plug.
Spurs are believed to have made another check on his situation on deadline day, but Liverpool are ruling out letting the 31-year-old leave this month.
Instead, former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Robertson will leave Anfield at the end of the season amid ongoing interest from Europe.
His availability on a free transfer means clubs are preparing to rival Tottenham’s pursuit and could get ahead of Thomas Frank‘s side in the race for his signature.

Tottenham joined in race to sign Andy Robertson
Brown told Football Insider on 24 January that Robertson is keen on a move to Europe and could turn down offers from Premier League rivals as a result.
While Tottenham are seen as the front-runners given their advances before a deal fell through earlier in the window, they will now be joined in their pursuit.
“Tottenham made moves for Robertson but couldn’t get it done,” Brown told Football Insider.
“He would’ve been a good signing for them on the cheap, but it now looks like it’s going to be a free transfer at the end of the season instead.
“You won’t get much better than him for free, but Tottenham aren’t the only club who are going to be in for him in the summer.
“They wanted to get it done in January and they would’ve got in before other clubs, but if he’s leaving Liverpool at the end of his contract, clubs in Europe will make moves as well.

“It might be more difficult for them to get him in that case, depending on who comes in.
“There’s definitely going to be interest in him, and I expect him to be looking to agree a free transfer when the time comes, so it’s not going to be just Tottenham.”
Tottenham set to hijack Arsenal’s deadline day signing
While Spurs missed out on a deal to sign Robertson this month, they are closing in on a separate deal to sign a young striker before the window closes.
Tottenham are closing in on Hearts striker James Wilson, who had initially looked like he would be moving to Arsenal, while Celtic were also interested.
The youngster is set to travel to London on Monday afternoon to put pen to paper for a loan deal until the end of the season.
The 18-year-old striker is regarded as one of Scotland’s most promising players and has already received one cap for the senior national team.
