'From what I'm told...' - Ex-Man United coach: Enrique agreement nears in next Old Trafford manager news
Luis Enrique is set to snub interest from Manchester United in becoming their next manager in favour of extending his stay with Paris Saint-Germain.
The 55-year-old was always considered an unlikely contender for the role at Old Trafford amid doubts about his willingness to leave PSG in the near future.
His current deal with the reigning Champions League winners is set to run until 2027, but efforts are now being made to continue with the ambitious project he has started.
Former Man United coach Mick Brown told Football Insider that Enrique was never seen as a top contender for the Red Devils despite an initial interest.
He is now preparing to commit his future to PSG where he plans to continue working with some of the best players in the world, leaving United scrambling for a new manager.

Luis Enrique prepares to sign new PSG deal
Man United were not the only English club keen, as Football Insider revealed last month that Man City could consider Enrique to replace Pep Guardiola.
However, the Spaniard has never shown any indications he would be prepared to leave PSG as he targets further major silverware in the French capital.

PSG have been in talks over the manager’s future for a while, and have finally reached a breakthrough, with the boss prepared to snub Man United.
“Enrique was never likely to become the Man United manager,” Brown told Football Insider.
“He’s managing in a league which is quite comfortable for him, he doesn’t have the hassle and stress that he would be getting anywhere else in the Premier League.
“He’s got a world class side, managing world class players, they’re the Champions League winners, I don’t see what more he could be looking for.
“PSG obviously want him to stick around, they’re happy with what he’s done there, so agreeing terms over a new contract is the logical next step.
“From what I’m told, he was never really an option for Man United because he’s happy at PSG and was never going to consider a move.”
Who is the favourite for the Man United job?
Michael Carrick remains the front-runner for the Man United job after what has been a successful spell as the interim manager since his appointment in January.
While he has been criticised by some figures around the club, including Paul Scholes and Roy Keane, Brown told Football Insider that Carrick is in a strong position at United.

Man United drew 2-2 with Bournemouth last time out, meaning the interim boss has won seven of his ten games in charge in a major turnaround for their season.
Star players including the likes of Bruno Fernandes and Benjamin Sesko have also taken to the boss and have been impressed during his short interim spell.
Despite some criticism from loud voices surrounding the club, Carrick remains a leading contender for United and remains focused on a strong end to the season.
