Ian Wright the surprise voice of reason amid Igor Tudor sack latest at Tottenham

Ian Wright insists Tottenham Hotspur have little choice but to get rid of manager Igor Tudor on the back of the midweek thrashing at Atletico Madrid.

Tudor has lost all four games in charge of Spurs since replacing Thomas Frank a month ago, the most recent being that 5-2 loss in the Spanish capital.

It could have been so much worse for Tottenham on the night, with the major talking point being Tudor’s decision to haul off goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky early on.

Tudor’s job remains under huge threat, with Arsenal legend Wright the latest to share his thoughts on the mess in N17.

What did Ian Wright have to say about Igor Tudor at Tottenham?

Kinsky was brought in for a rare appearance against Atletico but lasted just 16 minutes, at which point he had been at fault for two of the hosts’ three goals.

That did not sit well with Wright, who shared the view of pretty much every Tottenham supporter in agreeing Tudor is not cut out for the job.

“You don’t want to see anyone getting sacked, but when you see someone who is blatantly out of their depth, it’s uncomfortable,” he said on Thursday’s episode of The Overlap.

“When he was blanked [Micky] van de Ven, I said these players are not listening to him. Then for him to miss that decision, in a game like that, at a club like that… I don’t know what he’s seen in training, but [Guglielmo] Vicario’s number one and you play him.”

Tudor is not expected to be sacked prior to the Liverpool game, with the Croatian set to take his pre-match press conference as normal on Friday.

ENIC bottle decision over Tudor in sack latest

It has been reported that ENIC will not get involved in the decision to sack Tudor and will instead leave it to Johan Lange and Vinai Venkatesham.

Those two have equally proved themselves to be out of depth, which pretty much sums everything up at Tottenham right now.

Many have already accepted it will be a fifth loss in a row under Tudor this weekend when Spurs make the trip to Anfield.

There is a serious risk the Lilywhites could find themselves inside the bottom three if results go against them over the coming days.

ENIC, having seemingly decided to watch things play out from afar, are as culpable as anyone in this mess.

Tudor will have one more game at least, but as Wright and pretty much everyone else has discovered, he is simply not the right man for the job.
