Journo contacted by Euro club to dismiss Rangers player approach - 'Not on their list'
Youssef Chermiti had been recommended to Fenerbahce by the Rangers striker’s agent in the winter transfer window.
Fenerbahce are said to have made a £13million bid for Chermiti, but it’s been claimed that the Gers have turned it down.
Hansa Rostock forward Ryan Naderi is a target at Ibrox, and the Light Blues seem to have plans to reinforce their attack before the 2 February deadline.
While there has been speculation surrounding the former Everton ace at the Glaswegian outfit, the Super Lig club have brought a twist to the saga.

Fenerbahce not interested in Rangers striker Youssef Chermiti
Chermiti isn’t on Fenerbahce’s transfer shortlist, according to Erdem Akbas.
The A Spor journalist was contacted by officials from the Istanbul side, who claimed that the Portugal Under-21 international’s agent was the one who brought the striker’s name up.
It’s been reported that the Super Lig club are planning on signing a high-profile name to bolster their number nine position, and they have no interest in the 21-year-old at Ibrox.
Writing on X on 27 January, Akbas said, “Fenerbahce’s club officials contacted me regarding the news.
Chermiti was brought up on the recommendation of his agent, but there was no interest. This name is not on their list. Fenerbahce’s management are focused on high-profile names for the striker position.”
There have been reliable reports that Fenerbahce made an offer for Chermiti, but it’s interesting to see a different perspective from Turkiye.
If it’s true that the centre-forward’s agent is behind all the talk, then one must question the commitment of the former Everton ace to the Govan side.
Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises not foolish after latest developments at Ibrox
Kevin Thelwell was heavily criticised for spending £8m on Chermiti, and the former sporting director’s failures eventually caught up with him, as he was sacked towards the end of November 2025.
Most Rangers fans will agree that the ex-Everton youngster hasn’t lived up to his price tag at Ibrox, scoring four goals in 16 league appearances.
Players Transfer fee Youssef Chermiti £8m Oliver Antman £3.5m Thelo Aasgaard £3.5m Bojan Miovski £2.6m Emmanuel Fernandez £2.5m
Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises would be foolish not to take £13m for the Portuguese striker after his struggles for half a season at the Gers.
It looks like the stories may have been drummed up by Chermiti’s agent as he continues to find things difficult in Glasgow.
