Journo slams Rangers star, says club should be ruthless in Jan as Russell Martin 'right all along'
Russell Martin may have been right to exclude Nicolas Raskin from the Rangers squad during his managerial stint in Glasgow.
The Belgium international had a falling out with the former Southampton boss at the start of the season, but it seemed to have been resolved after a few weeks.
Besiktas are showing interest in Raskin ahead of the winter transfer window, and it may be sensible for the Gers to cash in.
Andrew Cavenagh is expected to back Danny Rohl in January, but the Glaswegian outfit may need to raise funds after their £20million net spend in the summer.

Rangers should cash in on Nicolas Raskin in January
Raskin should be sold after failing to consistently live up to expectations at the Gers, Calum Crowe says.
The Daily Mail journalist believes it would be best for the Light Blues to get a significant sum for the midfielder at Ibrox in the coming weeks, if they can.
With the Glaswegian outfit struggling in the Europa League and the William Hill Premiership, it wouldn’t be the worst idea to reinvest the profit from the Belgium international’s sale to rebuild the squad for Rohl.
Crowe wrote in the Daily Mail on 23 December: “Raskin, for all his undoubted ability, has not consistently met the standard that is required at Ibrox. The club should be ruthless and take the money.”
The journalist added: “They have nothing left to play for this season. Europe is gone. They are all but out of the title race. They should do whatever they can to kick-start Danny Rohl’s rebuild in January. In the case of Raskin, it’s hard not to feel like Martin was right all along.”
Raskin could potentially end up being one of the biggest sales at Ibrox, and his situation will surely be worth watching in G51.
Danny Rohl may already have eyes on Nicolas Raskin replacement
Tromso’s Jens Hjerto-Dahl has emerged as a Rangers target, and the defensive midfielder may have what it takes to succeed in Govan.
The 6’4″ Norway Under-21 international is one of the most significant prospects in Eliteserien, with his quality on the ball and physicality catching a lot of people’s attention.

With Raskin’s contract set to expire in 2028, his value could potentially go down as the months go by.
The Belgian midfielder has failed to hit the heights of last season at the Glaswegian outfit, and if he continues to struggle, they may lose money on him.
