Keith Wyness says Leeds senior man has learned his lessons ahead of potentially 'amazing' achievement
Leeds United’s season would be considered a success if the club can reach the FA Cup final and remain in the Premier League.
That is according to former Everton chief executive Keith Wyness, speaking to Football Insider, after Leeds beat West Ham on penalties to reach the semi-finals of the FA Cup.
Despite taking a 2-0 lead in the contest, Leeds needed a penalty shootout victory to overcome the Hammers at the London Stadium.
The win sees the Whites book a date at Wembley against Premier League rivals Chelsea, in what will be the club’s first FA Cup semi-final in 39 years.
Leeds also remain on course for Premier League survival in their first season back in the top flight, with Daniel Farke’s side four points clear of the drop zone.

Daniel Farke has ‘proven’ himself this season
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – praises manager Farke for Leeds’ season so far.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast, Wyness gives the Yorkshire club a chance of beating Chelsea in the FA Cup semi-finals.

He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “If they can get into a cup final, that would be amazing.
“Now, Chelsea vs Leeds brings back many memories for people of my age, the cup final, the famous cup final. It really was a battle, and I’d urge anybody to try and look at the videos of that game. It was amazing.
“The two legs as well with the replay. It was incredible.
“Daniel Farke is somebody who’s learnt a lot and has proven he’s a Premier League manager. He’s got this Leeds team doing well, and they are a cup-style team, and they could actually do this against Chelsea.
“If they get to a cup final, and they stay up, that would be considered a very good season for Leeds. I’m sure the Leeds fans would take that, certainly.”
Leeds set for £200m cash boost
Sources have told Football Insider that Leeds will smash their club revenue thanks to a successful season in the Premier League and FA Cup.
Leeds’ revenue could surpass £200million, and they would bank £120m if they maintained their current position of 15th in the table.
The club may want to use the extra revenue to improve their squad in the summer transfer window if they remain in the top flight.
Leeds could target a striker to bolster their options up-front, with Ireland’s Troy Parrott one player on their radar.
