King backs Tottenham to sanction exit deal for player who's not currently in London, La Liga move possible
Tottenham outcast Yves Bissouma is attracting interest from Europe after his performances at the Africa Cup of Nations.
Bissouma is currently with Mali at AFCON and has reached the quarter-finals, setting up a clash with Senegal on Friday.
The 29-year-old has featured across 240 minutes at the tournament, despite Bissouma being stuck on the sidelines at Tottenham under Thomas Frank.
His treatment from the Danish head coach has seen Bissouma strongly linked with a Tottenham exit, with a winter exit seemingly on the cards.
The Lilywhites may not see any quality in Bissouma, but that doesn’t look to be ending interest from the continent with three weeks remaining in the window.
Tottenham to agree quick Yves Bissouma sale
Tottenham want to get rid of Bissouma as they hope for a minimal financial boost a sale could bring for the rest of the winter transfer window.
The Lilywhites’ number eight hasn’t played in the Premier League since May, so there was little hope of any fee for his departure.
That could change now that the midfielder has put in a positive shift at AFCON, with his showing against Tunisia helping his country to penalty shootout success.
Former scout Bryan King believes his performances will pique the interest of sides across Europe as Spurs look to agree a transfer as soon as possible.
Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, King said: “It isn’t going to make a difference whether he is in England or Africa.
“A deal is still there to be done, and it can still be done whether or not AFCON is finished.
“He’s a player who has disrupted everything since he’s been there. I would have thought the best time to move him on is now.
“If he’s doing well for Mali, I’m surprised a Spanish, French or Italian club hasn’t come in for him.
“I’d imagine they are watching his current performances very closely. If he’s playing well, of course, clubs will be watching and be interested.“
Bissouma could make Serie A switch in January
There have been positive signs from the 29-year-old over the years, with proof of the quality that he can provide when on his game.
Bissouma was excellent for Brighton, but has never quite found his stride at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, for whatever reason.

Having scored just two goals, while never contributing an assist, it is hardly a record to be proud of, even for someone who isn’t famed for scoring goals.
A move to a slower division like Serie A could prove to be the making of the Mali skipper, who may thrive in that sort of environment.
Scott McTominay is a clear example of a struggling Premier League player to take Italy by storm, an example which could be perfect for Bissouma to follow this winter and beyond.
