Last twist emerges in Rangers-Naderi deal, he might not be arriving right away - reports

Rangers have been desperate to get a striker over the line this winter transfer window, and Ryan Naderi is among the names on the shortlist.

The potential departure of Danilo will leave Danny Rohl light in that area of the pitch, and work has been underway to replace him over the last week.

Southampton’s Cameron Archer looked to be the main priority for the Glasgow club, but the Saints’ inability to source a replacement had stalled that move.

Rangers had also looked at Naderi previously, and after Archer’s move collapse, they moved back in for him, and it looked like a deal was agreed for this window.

However, a new twist in the story has emerged.

Ryan Naderi to Rangers receives last-minute twist

With Danilo looking to leave Rangers, the forward will not be allowed to exit without the club signing a replacement, and it had looked all but confirmed that they had found one.

A move for Naderi to Rangers looks to be close, with the German in the UK ahead of his switch to the Scottish Premier League.

However, it may not be as it seems after a new report has come out.

According to Raman Bhardwaj, the deal agreed for Naderi is currently for the German forward to join Rangers at the end of the season, rather than right now.

The journalist does state that things could change quickly, and there is a chance that Naderi will join the G51 outfit this window.

Of course, if this is the case, and Naderi stays at Hansa Rostock until the summer, the likelihood is that Danilo’s move to NEC Nijmegen will also be put into doubt.

Scottish title race hinges on Rangers signing a striker

As seen in Rangers’ 0-0 draw against Hibernian, Rohl is in need of a striker that can help propel the club to league title number 56.

So far this season, Youssouf Chermiti has just four goals, and while recent showings have shown promise, that is not the level of output you expect from a striker at a league-challenging side.

If Naderi’s move is for the summer, the 49ers must do what it takes to make that move permanent this window, rather than leaving their manager out to dry.

The Glasgow club have messed around too much, letting a move for Archer fall away, even if it was not entirely their fault.

If Naderi slips through their fingers for this season and Rangers miss out on the league title, the ownership will have nobody but themselves to blame.
