Matt Lucas applauds on social media as Everton star helps take apart Chelsea
Matt Lucas has applauded Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall after the midfielder shone in Everton‘s 3-0 win against Chelsea.
The actor and well-known Arsenal fan reacted following the Toffees’ 3-0 win at Hill Dickinson Stadium, seeing David Moyes’ side strengthen their European hopes.
The midfielder spent last season at Stamford Bridge, where he failed to make much of an impact under Enzo Maresca, before making the switch to Everton.
The same cannot be said for his time on Merseyside though, with Dewsbury-Hall playing an integral role as the Toffees look to secure European football for the first time since 2017.
Replying to his Instagram post after Saturday’s win over Chelsea, media personality Lucas applauded the performance.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall receives praise following performance in Chelsea win
Operating as the link between the lines under Moyes, Dewsbury-Hall has become a popular figure at the club, after arriving from Chelsea last summer.
When fit, the 27-year-old is one of the first names on the teamsheet, and he has more than shown his worth under Moyes.

Taking to Instagram after the win, the midfielder expressed his delight, to which Lucas replied with three clapping emojis – potentially hinting at the delight of a Chelsea defeat given his Arsenal connections.
Teammates James Garner and Jack Grealish also rushed to praise Dewsbury-Hall, with both also playing big parts in Everton’s current campaign.
The Toffees sit eighth in the standings, and it is not just the Europa League in which they can aim for, with rivals Liverpool sitting fifth, just three points ahead of Moyes’ side with the derby coming up after the international break.
Dewsbury-Hall has become talismanic as Everton aim for Europe
After an under-par time at Stamford Bridge, Dewsbury-Hall is playing the best football of his Premier League career with Everton.
In midfield, he is simply all-action, and has complemented those around him perfectly, with his willingness to get on the ball and drive up the pitch, while being a constant nuisance with the ball at his feet – as demonstrated by his Sofascore graphic below.

With Jack Grealish out injured, he has slipped into a talismanic role alongside Iliman Ndiaye, with the pair both carrying immense driving abilities, while the mercurial talents of Ndiaye were more than on show against Chelsea on Saturday.
The Toffees are looking to qualify for Europe for the first time since 2017, and the talents of Dewsbury-Hall will go a long way to taking Everton there.
