Micky van de Ven outburst: Someone is telling lies as Tottenham circus continues
Micky van de Ven has hit back at a comment suggesting his Tottenham Hotspur teammates are unfocused in the relegation battle.
The North London club have unexpectedly found themselves fighting for their Premier League status this campaign, as they sit just one point above the drop zone.
In order to stave off relegation, the N17 outfit will need everybody to work together and fight their way out of the scrap at the bottom of the table.
However, ahead of Tottenham’s game versus Atletico Madrid, reports surfaced suggesting not everybody was aligned in the Spurs squad.

What did Micky van de Ven say in Tottenham outburst?
As Tottenham continue to be embroiled in the battle for Premier League survival, reports emerged from The Athletic’s Tottenham correspondent Jay Harris that one player was not concerned about relegation.
That was due to the fact they felt they would be able to leave Spurs in the summer window in that event.
Harris wrote: “The Athletic has even been told that one player has expressed to his teammates that he is not too concerned by the possibility of relegation because he believes he can and will leave the club this summer.”
The information released by the journalist was quite a damning indictment, if true, and that was brought forth to van de Ven ahead of the second leg against Atletico Madrid.
The Spurs defender has now hit back at those claims, putting doubt into the validity of the information.
Van de Ven stated: “People are just making things up.”
Harris is now likely to face claims that he lied, and while that is a possibility, he could also have been fed bad information.
On the flip side, the Tottenham defender may not be aware of the situation in which the info being shared with the journalist occurred.
Additionally, he could also know the journalist was correct in his article and instead is now attempting to put out the fire as Spurs’ turmoil continues.
Either way, someone is lying in this situation.
Micky van de Ven is right, Tottenham must avoid drama in relegation battle
As doubts surround the validity of either party’s stories, van de Ven did hit the nail on the head when speaking about Spurs’ future.
The Dutch defender stated that the circus around Tottenham’s relegation fight is not helping their cause.
However, Igor Tudor may need to listen to his centre-back as well. The substitution of Antonin Kinsky in the first leg against Atletico Madrid was just another moment that fanned the flames around Tottenham.

While the players may feel the media is on top of them in a negative manner, they must also sort their in-house drama as well.
While the draw against Liverpool was a good starting point for the Lilywhites and the Croatian, there is still plenty of work that needs to be done.
