Nicolas Raskin and other Rangers players react to Ibrox exit news today

Nicolas Raskin had a much quieter winter transfer deadline day compared to the final stages of the summer window.

Raskin was strongly linked with a move away from Ibrox in August and early September after falling out with then-boss Russell Martin.

The Belgium international is still regularly touted with a move away, but certainly not in anywhere the same manner as five months ago.

While it is true Besiktas could still move for Raskin – or indeed any other teams in Turkey and the Netherlands while the window is still open – it seems more than likely he will stay in Glasgow.

But there has been some movement at Rangers beyond Monday evening’s deadline for Scottish clubs, which Raskin has reacted to.

Rangers players react to Danilo exit post

It has long been expected that Danilo would leave Rangers in the winter window, although nothing was made official on deadline day.

Instead, confirmation arrived from Rangers on Tuesday, with Dutch clubs still able to finalise their own business.

Danilo has joined NEC Nijmegen on an initial loan deal, which contains an option for the Eredivisie side to make permanent.

Rangers announced the news on their social media channels, with Raskin and Jack Butland among those to ‘like’ the post.

Danilo was a popular member of the Rangers dressing room and will no doubt be missed, but it is a move that makes total sense.

Will there be any more exits after Danilo?

While the window may be shut for Scottish sides – and indeed for pretty much the whole continent come Friday – there could still be exits from Ibrox.

Rabbi Matondo is one of those who could head off, with Rangers exploring the prospect of terminating his contract should any clubs want the Wales international.

The brutal truth is that it makes absolutely no difference to Danny Rohl whether Matondo is part of his squad or not.

It has long been clear that Matondo does not have a future in Glasgow, so it would make perfect sense to get him off the books now rather than in the summer.

If that is achieved, it would be a positive month or so on the transfer front for the Gers.
