O'Rourke: Rangers to force club into reluctantly accepting 'big-money' transfer bid in summer
Elijah Just will leave Motherwell this summer if Rangers offer a sizeable amount for his services to follow up their continued interest.
Rangers are reportedly keeping tabs on Just as he impresses in his debut Scottish Premiership season at Motherwell.
The New Zealand international has registered seven goals and six assists in 28 league games so far while featuring at attacking midfield and centre-forward.
His fine form has alerted both Old Firm clubs to his availability, and as I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Transfer Insider podcast, Motherwell will be forced to let him depart if either side offers a decent sum.
Rangers’ transfer plans are set to centre around attacking players, but Danny Rohl’s full current focus will be on guiding his side to the Premiership title.

Motherwell will have to let Elijah Just leave if Rangers offer big money
Just is one of several stars who have shone under Jens Berthel Askou at Fir Park this season, but despite their strong form, they are still at the mercy of Rangers and Celtic when it comes to finances.
Motherwell were chasing down the Old Firm clubs, but have lost ground in recent weeks, and they are likely to need to sell at least one of their big stars this summer to bolster other positions.
Appearances 28 Goals 7 Assists 6 Chances created per 90 1.66 Successful dribbles per 90 1.66 Duels won % 47.9% Fouls won per 90 1.96 Touches in opposition box per 90 5.97
Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: “It’s a similar situation that we always find in Scotland.
“If a player outside the Old Firm is doing well, you normally see the Rangers and Celtic linked with them.
“That’s the case with Elijah Just, who’s had a very impressive season for Motherwell.
“Motherwell, I’m sure, are realistic about what might happen. If a big-money offer comes in for their players, they’ll reluctantly have to accept it.”
Rangers are undecided about buying Andreas Skov Olsen this summer
Skov Olsen’s future at Rangers could play a part in whether they make a move to sign Just this summer.
The Denmark international has struggled to make an impact at Ibrox since his January loan move from Wolfsburg, with one goal and two assists in nine appearances.
Sources have told Football Insider that Rangers have not been convinced by Skov Olsen and remain uncertain about triggering the £8million option-to-buy clause in his temporary deal.
It remains to be seen whether he does enough from now until the end of the season to warrant such a fee, but if not, then Just could well be the ideal alternative for the Gers.
